Most of our support work is done in the Station Belle Isle area of responsibility. The station is located at the south-east end of an island in the Detroit River, near the source of the river at Lake St. Clair. The AOR (area of responsibility) begins at the western edge of Lake St. Clair, and extends to Point Mouilee in Lake Erie, including the entire Detroit River. The river handles more tonnage than any other in the United States.
This is one of the few places in the country that Canada lies SOUTH of the United States!

Major events during the boating season for which Belle Isle bears primary the responsibility include the Thunderfest which requires extensive Auxiliary support.
